Bay: Macron is right, Pristina responsible for riots; France and EU must force Kurti to step down
President Macron is right when he says that the Kosovo Government is responsible for the riots because it was precisely them who sent Albanian mayors to brutally occupy Serbian municipal buildings in the north, French Member of the European Parliament Nicolas Bay says for Kosovo Online.
Bay states that the recent fake democratic voting, without the participation of Serbs and with a laughable turnout, allowed the Kosovo Government to expel Serbian mayors.
"Albanian mayors first removed Serbian flags from the front of municipal buildings, showing what it's really about. Kosovo is the historical cradle of Serbia, and today, after the Albanian invasion, the north is the only bastion left to Serbs in Kosovo," Bay says.
Bay believes that Serbian mayors need to return to power as soon as possible and that President Macron should have reacted earlier.
"President Macron is waking up late. He timidly condemns the actions of the Kosovo Government. He should have reacted earlier. That's what some people, including myself, have been calling for for 20 years. France, as a diplomatic power, must quickly condemn Kosovo before new confrontations arise. Serbian mayors and flags must return to northern Kosovo. These fake elections are just another means of expelling the last remaining Serbs from Kosovo and forcefully occupying territory that does not belong to them," Bay believes.
Kurti has rejected the US request to remove police officers from municipal buildings in the north, and when asked if we can fear new incidents, the French MEP says that France and the EU must force Kurti to step down.
"Yes, there will be other incidents because Serbs, rightfully so, will not allow Albanians to solidify their presence in northern Kosovo. France and the European Union must force Kurti to withdraw before things end badly. Serbs have faced yet another Albanian provocation, an attack on the main bridge over the Ibar River, a symbol of Serbian resistance to their oppressor. In order for the situation to improve, Serbian interests in the region must be strongly defended, starting with the demand for the departure of Albanian mayors," Bay says.
