US Senator Chris Murphy said today that the key steps towards de-escalating the conflict in the north of Kosovo were for the Kosovo Special Police to withdraw and for Serbia to take real steps to end the protests.
Also, he wrote on Twitter that for peace it was necessary to schedule new elections, that access to municipal buildings be limited to civil servants, and that all previous agreements between Serbia and Kosovo, including the CSM, be respected.
"A few key elements of de-escalation: Kosovo special police withdraw/Serbia takes real steps to end protests. Schedule new elections, access to municipal buildings restricted to civil servants, honor previous agreements between Serbia and Kosovo, including the CSM," Murphy wrote.
