Behrami: Kurti is doing everything to remove America from Kosovo

Member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Artan Behrami, responded after the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, conditioned the continuation of the dialogue with Serbia, emphasizing that every political and military step in Kosovo used to be built in close coordination with Washington.

"Together we won all the battles. The United States had and still has a decisive role in every solution for the Balkans after the Cold War. Today, we have a state usurper who is doing everything to remove America from Kosovo. A self-destructive behavior that has more to do with personal fear than with national interest," Behrami wrote in a Facebook post.

He explains that Kurti set conditions for US President Donald Trump.

"What does Kurti do after Trump’s statement? He sets conditions for America. He demands the extradition of Radoicic, whom he himself amnestied. He demands a signature for the Ohrid Agreement, which he accepted, then rejected, then asked for a guarantor, now a signature, then a seal. The withdrawal of Brnabic’s letter has suddenly become an obstacle. He accepted the removal of mutual recognition from the agreement," he added.

Behrami emphasizes that Kurti uses conditionality only as a cover to hide.

"When you lack courage, you replace it with sabotage. Therefore, the delay in forming institutions, the blockade of the assembly and the government, are just attempts to keep the government in a state of panic. But Kurti's fear is not fear for Kosovo. Kosovo is not a project of fear, but of sacrifice, dialogue, compromise, and above all, courage. Together with the US and NATO, we won the war. We are an independent country, victors. And victors do not return to the logic of victimhood. They do not hide behind papers, do not impose conditions on allies, and do not feed on paranoia," Behrami concluded.
