The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, said today, at a meeting with the representatives of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Serbia, that the economic cooperation between the two countries was getting better and better. She added that more American companies should be brought to our country and Serbia should be promoted on the American market, RTV reports.

The main topics of discussion were AmCham priorities, continuation and support for reforms, primarily in the areas of digitization, healthcare, the Green Agenda and environmental protection, and the topic of improving cooperation within the Open Balkans initiative was discussed in particular.

"I am glad that today I had a good and constructive meeting and good initiatives so that in areas such as digitization, health, environmental protection, as well as regional initiatives, especially the Open Balkans initiative, we can solve some problems. We shoul also promote Serbia on the American market, in order to bring more companies to Serbia on the one hand, and on the other hand to open the American market for our companies", Brnabic said.

She said that immediately this week, after the conference of the American Chamber of Commerce where she presented the analysis and results of her members' research "The Tenth Fleeting Time", a working meeting was organized where they discussed those areas that are bothering their members, i.e. those areas where they sew that we could work together.

"To further improve the potential for investments, but also ultimately the quality of life of all our citizens," the Prime Minister added.

She pointed out that we had the best possible cooperation with the USA and American companies and that the foreign trade exchange between the two countries exceeded one billion euros in 2021 and that it was expected to be significantly higher at the end of 2022.

AmCham President Stefan Lazarevic thanked Prime Minister Brnabic and her team for the open and constructive dialogue in which, as he said, a series of activities were agreed upon that they would work on together with the government in 2023, with the aim of improving business conditions in Serbia and reducing the crises effect.

"Also, together we will continue the dialogue and monitor the degree of implementation of the activities, which in the field of digitization, the Green Agenda, health and the Open Balkans, above all, aim to improve the efficiency of the administration and the judiciary and increase the level of transparency in the way of decision-making and functioning," Lazarevic said.

He pointed out that the goal was to modernize the healthcare system and improve environmental protection, enable the diversification of energy supply sources, as well as to make Serbia even more attractive for investments.
