Mehaj: KSF will be wherever it is necessary to protect the territory of Kosovo

The Minister of Defense of Kosovo, Armend Mehaj, said that the Kosovo Security Forces would be in every corner of the territory of Kosovo depending on the need, Reporteri reports.

He said this at a press conference in response to a question about an earlier agreement to keep the KSF off the north.

"That agreement was signed in 2013. Based on the mandate and laws of Kosovo, the KSF is committed to protecting the territory of the Republic of Kosovo. Wherever there is a need, the KSF will be there to protect the territory of the Republic of Kosovo," Mehaj said.

He also stated that it was not true that the supply of heavy weapons to the KSF was limited.

"The KSF has heavy weapons. Every piece of equipment they own is according to NATO standards. It is procured from NATO partner countries, mostly from the United States of America," Mehaj said.
