Brnabic: Everyone can now see that Kurti does not want peace and stability

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, said today that everyone could see that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti did not want peace and stability.

"Our constant calls for peace and stability, Kurti sees as a threat; calls for open and honest dialogue, as well as the full implementation of every agreement reached between Belgrade and Pristina. Serbia has an interest in peace and stability," Brnabic stated on Twitter.

She emphasized that Serbia respected every signed agreement: the Brussels Agreement, the Washington Agreement, Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council, and the UN Charter.

"These are our values. But Kurti's values are different: the Brussels Agreement - does not exist, the Washington Agreement - is not valid, the UN Resolution 1244 – is a threat to Pristina. Also, for him, human rights and the rule of law mean - forbidding Serbs to vote, confiscating their property and the daily threat of using brutal force," Brnabic pointed out.

The Prime Minister of Serbia quoted Kurti's tweet today, in which he stated that "Pristina does not want conflict, but dialogue and peace".

"However, the fact is that now everyone, even his biggest supporters from the EU and the US, can see what he really stands for and what his values are. These are neither peace nor stability," Brnabic said.

She points out that peace will prevail and that Kurti will not succeed in his intentions.

"Once again, despite Kurti's irresponsible behavior and warmongering policy, I call for calm and patience. All protests should be peaceful and democratic. We must protect what is most important for everyone, and that is peace," Brnabic said.
