Brnabic: The fact that the murderers of Ivanovic are not found shows they are not of Serbian nationality
The fact that the orderer and the perpetrator of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic have not been found, for me, says that they are not people of Serbian nationality, Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic said today.
"It is the most heinous and terrible crime. When you look at what is happening on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, in the last two years alone, where there have been over 300 different attacks on the Serbian population, incidents, and provocations, and not a single person has been held accountable, prosecuted, and no indictment has been filed, it speaks about the state of security and the rule of law for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija," Brnabic said, after a meeting in the House of Guards, which was attended by the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, the President of the Serbian Parliament Vladimir Orlic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Milos Vucevic and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, General Milan Mojsilovic.
Brnabic added that the security services of Serbia continued to work to find the orderer and perpetrator of Oliver Ivanovic's murder, but in limited capacities, because their hands and feet were tied, as most of the evidence and information requested from Pristina had not been obtained.
"If anyone of Serbian nationality or from the territory of central Serbia was involved in this crime, if there was any evidence, they would have been detained several times by now. The fact that the orderer and the perpetrator have not been found tells me that they are not people of Serbian nationality. I believe that Pristina would have been eager to bring those people to justice if they were of Serbian nationality. We had false indictments, which were dropped. Someone else is behind it, and perhaps the fact that we have no names, no information and evidence shows us that, as well as that everything we are looking for in terms of information is denied to us," Brnabic added.
Brnabic said that Serbia would not calm down until the orderer and perpetrator were brought to justice, and she would work and insist that it happens.
"Unfortunately, since the crime was committed on the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo, we need information from all international actors who deal with the rule of law, protection of the rule of law, and the legal order, primarily EULEX and UNMIK, but also Pristina institutions, temporary authorities that are in charge and competent to find all those who committed that heinous crime," Brnabic said.
The Prime Minister of Serbia also said that Serbia had no additional information from international actors or Pristina regarding the perpetrators and those who ordered the murder of Ivanovic.
