The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said tonight that the situation in Kosovo was getting complicated and that he was worried about it, and said that Serbia was ready for compromises, but that Pristina had to remove the new mayors in the north and start establishing the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities.

"We are ready for compromises, I'm just asking you to remove the fake mayors from the municipal buildings, let them resign. We are ready for compromises, but also start forming the CSM," Vucic said in the "Cirilica" show on TV Happy.

He said that he had had difficult discussions regarding Kosovo.

"I had a not-so-easy conversation with Miroslav Lajcak, with several American representatives, and with one of the highest representatives of the EU late last night. The situation is getting complicated and it worries me a lot," Vucic stressed.

He reported that the Serbian Army had moved from the highest to a slightly lower level of combat readiness.

"But we still have enough soldiers to help our people," he underlined.

He said that he would not rule out the possibility that someone wanted conflicts, adding that this desire existed in three or four countries.

"I don't think I need to say which countries those are," he added.

Vucic indicated that he had had very difficult conversations in Chisinau, especially with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron.

"I have great respect for Chancellor Scholz, I am politically close to President Macron. It was a very difficult conversation. I said at one point that I didn't think it was fair, and it wasn't easy for them either. We have to understand them, they don't want war, conflict. Ours is to preserve the peace, and the interests of our people, for our nation to survive. That is why it is not easy to talk with the Serbs from Kosovo either," he explained.

Vucic said that he had to take care of the interests of citizens throughout Serbia.

He also noted that everyone in the world was waiting for the American presidential elections, and that July and August would be very important for Serbia, especially if James O'Brien came, saying that he was a man who understood things and knew how to listen.

"There is no cheating with him and he is not informed only by the NGO sector, but he sees everything and understands everything. He is extremely intelligent, like Christopher Hill," Vucic said.

He repeated that he was very worried about Kosovo because tomorrow the reports of Josep Borrell, Miroslav Lajcak, and others would be presented, and there would be proposals for various measures.

Vucic stated that the BRICS countries were becoming stronger in the world because not only the countries of South America and Africa were joining but also the most important countries of the Gulf, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

He drew attention to the fact that great changes were taking place on the German political scene as well, because the right was getting stronger and was growing into the strongest political option, with greater support from the current German government.

Edi Rama is not authorized to draft the CSM Statute

When asked about the proposal for the CSM statute, which was sent to German Chancellor Scholz and French President Macron by Albanian Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Vucic said that he greatly respected the head of the Albanian government, but that he was not authorized to hand over the Statute.

"Only the Serbian Management Team is responsible for submitting the Statute. As far as I know, Edi Rama is not a member of that team, and neither is Kurti," he underlined.

He said that in the end, it had to be as agreed, to always remind them that they had to go back to what was written in the papers.

"The Serbs and the Management Team should write the Statute of the CSM. We have nothing to negotiate about. Just give us the principles, organs, and bodies of the CSM as negotiated and as I initialed in 2015 with Isa Mustafa," he underlined.

Vucic said that this would not happen, certainly while Kurti was in power.

"What will happen in the meantime is what worries me. I am very worried because I am afraid that further escalation is yet to come. The Ukrainians have just started the offensive. Even greater pressure will follow," he explained.

Vucic also referred to certain statements that he had allegedly promised to recognize Kosovo, asking to whom he had ever said that.

"It's been 11 years since they claim that it is necessary for me to fulfill something. And they openly say that they will serve foreigners. I will not, I will serve only my country, my citizens, and my people," he emphasized.

Vucic did not want to comment on the statements of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany regarding Kosovo, pointing out that she was a too important woman for our country.

Speaking about Albin Kurti, Vucic said that he was a student of Adem Demaci.

"He is a student of Adem Demaci and does not have a military biography, but he would like to have one. I would not like him to achieve that, because I am trying to preserve peace and stability," the President of Serbia underlined.

He explained that the bottom line was that Kurti in Ohrid had done the best for his own people and that he, as the president of Serbia, had done the best for the Serbs, and that in almost impossible conditions because most countries had recognized Kosovo's independence.

He stated that thanks to the engagement of the current government, 28 countries had withdrawn their recognition of Kosovo.
