Brnabic: Serbs in Kosovo are on the edge of patience, seeking understanding for their problems

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, commenting on the Serb protest in Rudare, pointed out that the Serbs in Kosovo are on the edge of patience and strength and that today they tried to appeal in the best possible way to all international partners to show understanding for their problems, TV Pink reports.

"The only thing that the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija want is respect for the rule of law and the guarantee of human rights for everyone, and basic human rights. If someone is to be arrested, to know why, for the family to know why, for them to know where the arrested person is, if he is okay, has he received medication if he is receiving some therapies, and not that people are arrested and mistreated just because they are Serbs," said Brnabic at a regional conference in Novi Sad.

She added that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, is in constant communication with the European officials.

"The president is in constant consultation with our European partners and with Miroslav Lajcak and with partners in the United States of America and with the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, in order to keep the situation calm and under control, as much as it can be, but it seems to me that there is no enough clear distancing from Pristina's moves and from the fact that it is not in accordance with the rule of law and that such things cannot be tolerated," Brnabic said.

As she pointed out, the Serbs in Kosovo were looking for a basic thing, which in the 21st century should not be asked for, but taken for granted.
