Brnabic: Vucic accused Kurti of crimes against humanity in his speech at the UNSC

Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic stated that President Aleksandar Vucic had clearly accused Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti of crimes against humanity in his speech at the Security Council session, as well as creating unbearable living conditions for the Serbs in Kosovo.

She said, appearing on RTS, that because of this, President Vucic had repeated several times the definition that Kurti intentionally systematically created unbearable living conditions for the Serbs in Kosovo and that his only goal was to "cleanse the area of Serbs".

According to her, Kurti aimed to leave the Serbs without living conditions by abolishing the dinar.

"When the speech is analyzed, it will be seen that Vucic presented the case for accusing Kurti of crimes against humanity, causing irreparable damage, and creating unbearable living conditions to expel the Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija," Brnabic pointed out.

Brnabic emphasized that during his speech, Vucic mentioned that there had been 470 attacks on the Serbs and their property, as well as on the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo.

She added that anyone who watched Vucic's speech and dealt with international law could conclude that there was undisputed crime against the Serbs in Kosovo.

Asked to comment on Vucic's retort in which he had spoken about stopping a vehicle of the British company "Henderson" transporting dinars to Kosovo, the Prime Minister said that the President of Serbia had known that Kurti would lie and accuse the Serbs of being criminals transporting money in bags.

Brnabic noted that Vucic had saved Banjska for his rebuttal because he had known Kurti would tell lies about that event in his opening address.

"Vucic was confident that many Security Council members, as they did, would mention Banjska, so he waited, giving himself additional time in the rebuttal because addressing Banjska at the beginning would have taken away 10 minutes, which he used to present the crime against humanity," the Prime Minister emphasized.

As she pointed out, Vucic had shown in his presentation that "Banjska didn't happen out of the blue".

"And that for Banjska, besides Kurti, those who promised that these people would not be persecuted are also to blame, and then let them be harassed, arrested, persecuted, along with their families. A seriously considered and smart strategy," Brnabic highlighted.

She noted that Kurti had used the European Parliament's resolution on elections in Serbia to fight against Serbia, adding that it was essential for those who had requested that resolution to insist on including that Serbs in Kosovo had been prohibited from voting, emphasizing that if it had been included in the resolution, Kurti wouldn't be able to exploit it.

"Serbia is a free and democratic country, President Vucic has shown how to fight for Serbia," Brnabic said.
