Burjani: The purchase of drones carries no message for regional countries, Kosovo is working to strengthen its military capacities

Political analyst Blerim Burjani said in a statement for Kosovo Online that the purchase of “Sky Dagger 15” drones from Turkey is part of Kosovo’s efforts to increase its military capacities, stressing that this move does not carry any particular message to anyone, especially not to the countries in the region.

“Kosovo has a new army that will continue to strengthen its defense capacities. These are just small steps toward enhancing the country’s defense capabilities for the future,” Burjani said.

He emphasized that this development is nothing new and does not send any message.

“While Serbia is buying aircraft from France, and Albania is strengthening its capacities as a NATO member, this drone purchase does not represent any signal to anyone, not even to the countries in the region, since they have invested hundreds of times more in their military capacities. One could say that Kosovo is just at the beginning,” Burjani stated.

When it comes to military capacity building, he stressed that it no longer matters who is in power.

“It no longer matters who governs when it comes to military capacities. The focus now is on creating a modern army that will be part of NATO,” he concluded.
