Kurti: By procuring “Sky dagger 15” drones we are strengthening Kosovo’s defensive capabilities
Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, stated that the kamikaze drones “Sky dagger 15,” which arrived in Kosovo today, are enhancing and increasing the strike capability of the KSF (Kosovo Security Force) with the aim of building a force aligned with new technological developments and the tactics of modern warfare.
In a Facebook post, Kurti said that dozens of KSF personnel have already completed training for their use and that the drones had been scheduled to arrive in January 2026 but were delivered three months early.
Kurti emphasized that the contract was signed last December with the Turkish company Bayrak.
“These kamikaze drones, also known as FPV RTF (Ready-to-Fly) type, which we procured, are combat unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with explosive payloads intended to strike moving and fixed enemy targets. By purchasing this contingent of unmanned aerial systems, alongside TB2 Bayraktar and Puma aircraft, we continue to strengthen and expand the strike power of our armed forces with the aim of building a force capable and compatible with new technological developments and modern warfare tactics. The drones were loaded onto multifunctional Rheinmetall 8x8 trucks that we received last year — a total of 15, of which 10 were purchased by us and 5 were donated,” Kurti said.
