Canaj: Albania's policy toward Kosovo is unified, no matter who wins the elections

University professor in Pristina and former diplomat Blerim Canaj says that from Kosovo's perspective, it does not matter who wins the parliamentary elections in Albania, which are being held on Sunday, because Albania's policy toward Kosovo is consistent and will not change. However, he is convinced that the Socialists, led by Edi Rama, will certainly win.

According to him, Kosovo's politicians cooperate with all politicians in Albania.

“I think Edi Rama has more sympathy, that is well known, but when it comes to cooperation, everyone cooperates, any party and any politician. We know that Kurti and Rama have some issues, but as far as other politicians go, everyone works with everyone,” Canaj said.

He says that Kosovo was not a topic in Albania’s election campaign.

“They have other issues. They are more focused on domestic politics, and for them, Kosovo is Kosovo and Albania is Albania, so they don’t interfere much in Kosovo’s politics,” Canaj emphasized.
