CEC responded to the Serbs on the petition: Requests sent to the wrong address

The Central Election Commission announced that it had responded to the Serbs who attempted to submit a petition for the removal of mayors in northern Kosovo, explaining that they were not the right address for such a request, Klan Kosova reports.

Valmir Elezi stated in the response that the petitioners were informed that their request was "sent to the wrong address".

"I can confirm that the letters we received on December 5th via email have been reviewed, and we have responded, informing the petitioners that, according to the sub-legal acts of the Ministry of Local Government, this issue should be resolved by the local authorities. Therefore, it has been referred to the chairperson of the Municipal Assembly in the respective municipalities. We have instructed them to redirect the requests submitted to CEC to the competent authority", Elezi said.

Yesterday, the Serbs in the four northern municipalities in Kosovo tried to submit a petition for the removal of the mayors of North Mitrovica, Leposavic, Zvecan, and Zubin Potok, but their requests were rejected, after which they also turned to the CEC.
