Special Advisor at the US Department of State, Derek Chollet, held talks today with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, regarding the latest developments in northern Kosovo. He called on both sides to return to dialogue and work on de-escalating the situation.
"I spoke with the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic about the importance of the current de-escalation in northern Kosovo and the necessity to avoid actions that could further stoke tensions. The tragic loss of life underscores the urgent need to restore peace and return to the EU-facilitated dialogue," Chollet conveyed.
Chollet also had a discussion with Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti and on this occasion, he condemned the violence against the Kosovo Police.
He added that both sides must implement the obligations from the Ohrid Agreement.
