Congresswoman Tenney: We continue to build relations with Serbia, Ambassador Djuric is helping me with that
The US Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, who is also a member of the Serbian caucus, said that it was very important for the United States of America to maintain excellent relations with all partners in the Balkan region, especially with Serbia.
Tenney stated that the Serbian Ambassador to the US, Marko Djuric, contacted her at the very beginning of her mandate as a congresswoman.
"We were extremely glad that we established communication with him. He helps me in building relations with the entire leadership of Serbia and we are very excited about this partnership. Last year, Ambassador Djuric organized a dinner where he gathered a large number of my congressman friends and Serbian caucus members. It was a fantastic event, and we will continue to build our relations with Serbia and emphasize the importance of Serbia as part of the entire Balkan initiative and part of the entire region, as well as highlight the reasons why it is important that there is continuity in our relations," Tenney stated.
As she added, when she came to the US Congress, it was natural for her to give a voice to everyone in the Balkans.
"It is such an important part of our world, the gateway between East and West, so much history has happened in the region for good or bad reasons. I think it is very important for the US to maintain excellent relations with all our partners in the region, especially with Serbia, because Serbia is so big and important," Tenney said after a meeting with the head of Serbian diplomacy, Ivica Dacic, in Washington.
