Djuric with Congresswoman Veronica Escobar and Congressman Paul Gosar on regional events
In separate meetings on Capitol Hill, Serbian Ambassador to the US Marko Djuric spoke with Congresswoman Veronica Escobar and Congressman Paul Gosar about the further strengthening of Serbian-American cooperation and the current geopolitical situation in the region.
"Djuric conveyed to the US Congress representatives the views of the Serbian state leadership in light of the latest events in Kosovo and Metohija territory, reiterating Serbia's commitment to continuing negotiations and finding a compromise solution," the Serbian Embassy in Washington announced.
As it is added, Djuric underlined Serbia's active and constructive role in establishing stability in the Western Balkans by encouraging the development of specific cooperation frameworks and focusing on creating new opportunities for the economic progress of the entire region.
"In this regard, Djuric stated that the US support for the Open Balkan initiative greatly contributed to the positive atmosphere of the political dialogue and represented a strong wind at the back for all involved parties, as well as an additional motive for American and European investors to increase their presence in our region," it was emphasized in the announcement.
It is noted that Djuric invited Congresswoman Escobar and Congressman Gosar to join the American congressional delegation, which will visit Serbia in the upcoming period as part of the MECEA agreement on joint educational and cultural exchange.
