Dacic: China's support for Kosovo and Metohija is of crucial importance for Serbia

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic said today in Beijing that China's support was crucial for Serbia regarding vital issues such as Kosovo.

"At the beginning of the meeting with President Xi, Vucic said that we would support each other, and it was of vital importance for us to have China's support regarding the vital issue of Kosovo and Metohija," Dacic said.

He assessed that the relations between the two countries were mostly classified based on whether there were agreements between them, emphasizing that today's events had rounded off everything that had happened in the last ten years between China and Serbia.

"It is very important to say that, according to the Chinese President, China will stand by us in difficult times regarding difficult issues. Perhaps someone is trying to put that in the context of political events, but the signing of a free trade agreement will be important from a historical perspective," Dacic said.

He also expressed his support for President Aleksandar Vucic in the policy of an independent and sovereign Serbia.

He reminded that next week there would be a session of the UN Security Council on Kosovo, and China's support was of great significance to Serbia.
