The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, thanked the leader of the Syriza Radical Left Coalition, Alexis Tsipras, and the former Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs and member of that party, Georgios Katrougalos, for their unequivocal public support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

In a post on Twitter, Dacic expressed his deepest gratitude to the "Greek brothers".

"I want to express my deepest gratitude to our Greek brothers and friends from Syriza, Alexis Tsipras and Georgios Katrogalos, for their unequivocal public support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia," Dacic said on Twitter.

The opposition Syriza condemned the position of the Greek government during the vote on Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe, underlining that the restrained position of Athens, without explanation and consultation with the political forces in the country, practically, without explanation, changes the firm Greek position on the issue of Kosovo.

Katrougalos, the head of the diplomacy in the former Tsipras government who speaks on behalf of Syriza, said earlier that Greece had to always promote peace and stability in the Balkans by supporting mutually acceptable steps and solutions, as well as that the restrained position of Athens during the vote on Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe did not contribute to that goal.
