Dacic: "Modus operandi" unilateral moves of Kurti's government
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, stated that the unilateral moves of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti were the "modus operandi" of his government, all with the aim of avoiding the obligation - to establish the Community of Serbian Municipalities.
"They invent new problems every day and instead of normalization, we have escalation and de-escalation. All this is happening in order not to deal with the essence of the issue, which is the Community of Serbian Municipalities," Dacic told for Blic TV.
He points out that it is now important to prevent the negative effects of the illegal elections that were recently held in Kosovo, without the participation of Serbs in them.
"We are now looking at how to prevent negative effects if they introduce new so-called mayors in elections that did not have to be held. We now have elections in which Serbs did not participate, but Albanians participated, and with the participation of 13 Serbs, they will now be the mayors of Serbian municipalities, where they now assume that they will be brought into the offices with the police, and that they will make decisions to take down the Serbian flag and put up the Kosovo flag, to make a decision about the bridge... This comes from real social life," said Dacic.
On the statement that the fact that Europe allowed elections to be held in the north of Kosovo, "is only a trigger for further conflicts", Dacic says that he sometimes misses the former head of EU diplomacy, Catherine Ashton.
"I, along with Petar Petkovic, help when it comes to current issues. But when Catherine Ashton was there, she did not tolerate it. She knew what the goal was, and the goal was for Serbs to participate in the elections, which had never happened before that moment. I don't think this administration has any influence. Kurti believes that he has the support of Germany and that no one can do anything to him. He does not even react to the remarks of the Americans in the way they would like," noted the head of Serbian diplomacy.
Dacic also says that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Anallena Baerbock, said that no Kosovo prime minister would accept the CSM, to which he replied that he, personally, had signed it with Hashim Thaci.
"I was also at the meeting between President Vucic and Emmanuel Macron and Olaf Scholz, and I asked: 'What is Germany's position,' and they say that Bearbock is from another political party. The question arises, where are the limits of that", he noted.
On the statement that despite the statement of the US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, that the CSM will be "with or without Kurti", it is still being prolonged, Dacic noted that Kosovo is even being rewarded for what it refuses to do.
"They get visa liberalization and the way to the Council of Europe opens up for them. No one can say that they are conditioned, they are rewarded for what they refuse to do. I think we are far from stabilizing relations. They interpret the agreements in Brussels and Ohrid only in those parts that correspond to them, and those parts are planned for discussion only when the CSM is formed, and the president said that there was no discussion about it until the CSM was formed", Dacic reminded.
When asked to comment on the statement of Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy Hisen Berisha that "Kosovo is ready for war and in the event of a conflict with Serbia, it will fight for Nis, Kursumlija, Raska and Sandzak", Dacic said that he only said what everyone was thinking.
"And the representative of Albania said that Albania and Kosovo were brother and sister, and their mother is Greater Albania. What would happen if Serbia did that? It has become a cliché that everything is allowed to them", says Dacic and adds that Donika Gervalla "only knows how to talk - crime, war and genocide".
"When she speaks, she looks at me. I tell her - 'what you are looking at me, look at the members of the UN Council'. The other members of the Council who have their pre-written speeches, it's completely different from the atmosphere she creates. They all talk about how progress has been made. And one says, if this is progress, how was it before? Everyone is saying that CSM should be formed, she is completely imposing her own story," said Dacic.
He added that both Josep Borrell and Miroslav Lajcak were against the decision to approve the start of Kosovo's accession process to the Council of Europe, because they believed that this would collapse the negotiation process, but despite that appeal, to achieve unity around Ukraine, with the persuasion of Germany and Quint, this decision was made.
"We did not plan to break that unity. But they insisted on our territorial integrity and did not accept our amendment. The president made a decision not to participate in the European Summit, and I think that is the right decision. We told Iceland that. We do not gain anything by participating in all this. Either way we lose. "We will not block those declarations, we will show our protest by participating at the level of the head of the mission, which is Ambassador Aleksandra Djurovic, but we will abstain during the vote," Dacic said.
