Deli: We did not vote for the Resolution, we consider it counterproductive

Andor Deli, a Member of the European Parliament for Fidesz, stated that the party had not voted today for the "Resolution of the European Parliament on recent events in the Serbia-Kosovo dialogue" because he believed such resolutions were counterproductive and did not serve to de-escalate the situation or expedite negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, as reported by RTV.

Following the vote, he mentioned that such resolutions also did not contribute to strengthening the already fragile trust of Serbian citizens in the objectivity of European institutions.

"For this reason, the Fidesz delegation voted against this Resolution because we disagree with the stance of the European Parliament," he emphasized for Tanjug.

Members of the European Parliament earlier today approved the "Resolution of the European Parliament on recent events in the Serbia-Kosovo dialogue" with a majority of votes.

This document is not legally binding, and a consensus among EU member states is required for the recommendations within it.
