KP Director responds to US reaction: Today is a sports day

The Director of Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, watched a sports match today as part of the 25th-anniversary celebration of the Kosovo Police, a day after the raid on the Provisional Authorities in northern Kosovo. Hoxha stated that "today is a sports day and everything necessary regarding the actions was done yesterday," Dukagjini reports.

The day after a strong reaction from the US Embassy in Pristina, Hoxha remained calm and watched the competition.

"Today is a sports day. Everything we completed yesterday in the actions, we have communicated in a statement,” Hoxha said.

In its reaction yesterday, the US Embassy was critical of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the police, stating that the government was instrumentalizing this institution, to which the US had long contributed.

However, the head of the police does not see this as an issue for the institution he leads, and he shifted the responsibility to politicians.

"This is an issue that the Ministry and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo need to resolve," Hoxha said.
