Serbia has just been informed that MOL Group has been granted another two weeks to complete negotiations with Gazprom Neft on the purchase of the Russian stake in Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS), specifically until June 6, Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic stated.
“As we have emphasized several times, the Government of Serbia, led by President Aleksandar Vucic, is continuing negotiations with MOL regarding the shareholders’ agreement as well. The situation is complex, but our goal and responsibility are to find a long-term solution and protect the interests of the Republic of Serbia,” the minister wrote on Instagram.
The previous license allowing MOL to negotiate with Gazprom Neft on the purchase of the Russian majority stake in NIS was valid until today, May 22, according to Politika.
Negotiations between Russia’s Gazprom Neft and Hungary’s MOL are being conducted under the supervision of Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
