Djuric with Baerbock: Pristina's unilateral measures encourage mass emigration of Serbs from Kosovo

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met today with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Berlin Process, during which they discussed, among other topics, the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Djuric pointed out that Belgrade is committed to dialogue, but that Pristina has shown extreme unconstructiveness and unwillingness to implement agreements from the very beginning, especially regarding the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities.

Instead, Djuric warned that Pristina is resorting to unilateral measures to fundamentally alter the situation on the ground, and by violating the human, political, and economic rights of Serbs, it is encouraging their mass emigration from Kosovo.

Speaking about regional cooperation, Minister Djuric reiterated that Serbia supports all regional processes and initiatives, emphasizing that they contribute to reconciliation, provide additional momentum for regional development, and encourage overall progress on the path to full EU membership.

During the meeting, Djuric also highlighted that Serbia greatly values Germany's active participation and contribution to the Berlin Process, a forum that supports Serbia's and the Western Balkans' European integration through concrete projects.

According to Djuric, overall relations between Serbia and Germany are highly developed and characterized by excellent political and economic cooperation.

The Serbian Foreign Minister particularly emphasized the importance of regular high-level and top-level dialogue, expressing satisfaction with the recent visit of Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Serbia.

He expressed his satisfaction with the fact that economic cooperation between the two countries is dynamically developing year by year, through increasing trade in goods and services, a steady inflow of investments from German companies, and Germany's financial support through development aid programs.

Djuric specifically highlighted Serbia's economic achievements, emphasizing that Serbia is today the most promising and dynamic economy in the Western Balkans, serving as a key driver of regional development.

He stressed that EU membership is a strategic commitment and a priority of Serbia's foreign policy, underscoring that the country is dedicated to European values and aims to contribute to peace, stability, and prosperity in Europe.
