Djuric with Schallenberg on the problems of Serbs in Kosovo

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met today with his Austrian counterpart, Alexander Schallenberg, on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting within the Berlin Process. Djuric provided a detailed briefing on the problems faced by the Serbian people in Kosovo due to Pristina's unilateral actions.

Djuric noted that the relations between the two countries are very good, stable, and comprehensive, emphasizing that regular meetings between top officials significantly contribute to this. He expressed particular satisfaction with the fact that this year marks a very important anniversary — 150 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Austria.

He highlighted that Austria is an extremely important economic partner for Serbia, pointing out the need to continue joint efforts to intensify economic cooperation in various areas such as infrastructure, energy, and IT.

Djuric thanked Austria for its clear and unequivocal support for Serbia's European integration, as well as for supporting the accession of the entire Western Balkans region to the European Union, according to the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He also provided Schallenberg with detailed information about the problems faced by the Serbian population in Kosovo due to Pristina's unilateral actions.

The ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Serbia and the Government of Austria on reciprocal access to the labor market for family members of diplomatic missions and consular representatives.
