Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric congratulated Cyprus on assuming the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which it will hold for the next six months.

“At this crucial moment for our continent, unity, cohesion, and solidarity should guide our joint action, and enlargement has been recognized as an important tool for strengthening the Union as a whole. It is therefore encouraging to see that advancing the EU enlargement agenda through a merit-based process will be among the priorities in the coming six months,” Djuric wrote in a post on X.

He also extended congratulations to the head of Cypriot diplomacy, Konstantinos Kombos, and to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nicosia.

“I wish a successful Presidency of the Council of the European Union to Constantinos Kombos and his team at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and I am confident that their work and engagement will significantly contribute to strengthening the role of the European Union as a strategic global actor and as a family of all European nations,” Djuric wrote.
