Djuric expresses gratitude to Saint Lucia for supporting Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty
On the sidelines of the 55th Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States in Antigua and Barbuda, Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric met with the Minister for External Affairs of Saint Lucia, Alva Romanus Baptiste, to whom he expressed gratitude for the country’s support of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
On the sidelines of the 55th Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States in Antigua and Barbuda, Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric met with the Minister for External Affairs of Saint Lucia, Alva Romanus Baptiste, to whom he expressed gratitude for the country’s support of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Djuric emphasized that Saint Lucia’s position confirms its commitment to the fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Noting the positive momentum in the development of relations between Serbia and Saint Lucia, Djuric stated that Serbia is interested in intensifying political dialogue, enhancing parliamentary cooperation, and establishing more regular exchanges of views on all matters of mutual interest.
He also expressed Serbia’s desire to further strengthen ties with Saint Lucia within regional organizations.
The meeting also included discussions on the potential for boosting economic cooperation, with Djuric placing particular emphasis on collaboration in the field of education through the “World in Serbia” program. He invited students from Saint Lucia to continue applying for scholarship-based studies in Serbia.
During today’s meeting, the Minister informed his counterpart about preparations for the specialized Expo 2027 exhibition and expressed satisfaction that Saint Lucia has confirmed its participation in this prestigious global event.
