Djuric gave a chronology and summary of today's events in the north of Kosovo

The summary of today's events in northern Kosovo are 52 hospitalized persons of Serbian nationality, one of whom, Dragisa Galjak, is fighting for his life, 41 injured KFOR members, among whom three are seriously injured and four arrested Serbs, said the Ambassador of Serbia to the United States of America on Twitter.

"Chronology of today's events in Northern Kosovo:

- 5:30 am: A so called "mayor" of Leposavic, imposed by Kurti and lacking any legitimacy due to being "elected" in a failed election (with a turnout of only 3.39% in the Serb-majority region of North Kosovo*) accompanied by a heavily armed escort by Kurti special police entered the municipality building in Leposavic.

- KFOR installed barbed wire and set up perimeters around all municipal buildings in Northern Kosovo.

- 7 am: Serbian civilians from Kosovo gathered in front of the municipality buildings in Zvecan, Zubin Potok, and Leposavic to express their dissatisfaction with the illegal entrance of the illegitimate Kurti imposed “mayors” into the local authority buildings, which represent Serb-majority areas.

- Despite previous explicit assurances and guarantees, KFOR failed to protect the Serbs and to prevent the unlawful and violent occupation of these municipal buildings.

-The illegitimate Albanian "mayor" from Kurti's party LVV rejected to participate in a meeting with US Ambassador Jeff Hovenier.

- The largest gathering of Serbs took place in front of the municipality building in Zvecan. In the morning, KFOR allowed a group of local authorities' employees of Serbian nationality to pass through to the municipality building. However, Kurti’s special police intervened, using tear gas and violence to prevent their entry.

- Two vehicles belonging to Kurti’s special police remained surrounded by gathered Serbs, who peacefully displayed the Serbian flag and symbols on the vehicles without resorting to any acts of violence.

- Negotiations commenced between representatives of KFOR and the gathered Serbs. Dragisa Milovic, a medical doctor and a highly respected figure in the Serbian community, was designated to negotiate on their behalf.

- The Serbs proposed the replacement of Kurti’s special police and the immediate departure of the illegal and illegitimate Kurti imposed “mayors” from the municipal buildings. The Serbs agreed to accept KFOR forces to remain in their positions. The commander of KFOR for the region of eastern Kosovo acknowledged and noted these requests.

- Subsequently, KFOR requested the Serbs to accept Kurti’s special police vehicles, previously surrounded by Serbs, to be moved behind the KFOR line. However, the Serbs rejected this request.

- Following the rejection, KFOR initiated a violent action against unarmed seated Serbian civilians, employing force and causing serious injuries. One of the Serbian representatives, Dragisa Milovic, deputy director of the local hospital, sustained severe injuries and required hospitalization. Shock bombs and tear gas were deployed by KFOR, inciting a reaction from some civilians who engaged in barehand physical confrontations with heavily armed KFOR forces.

- A member of Kurti’s special police deliberately and in cold blood discharged several shots from a Kalashnikov rifle in the direction of the gathered Serbs, striking Dragisa Galjak twice from behind, resulting in critical injuries. This prompted a response from the gathered Serbs, who fought back with bare hands and rocks against the armed forces present.

- Sniper rifles, brought by Kurti's special police force, were spotted in several locations, directed towards the gathered Serbs.

Summary of today's events:

- 52 Serbs were hospitalized due to injuries, with three individuals sustaining severe injuries, including Dragisa Galjak (50), who was shot twice and is currently fighting for his life.

- 41 members of KFOR were injured, mostly from Hungarian and Italian contingents, with three of them sustaining serious injuries.

- Nebojsa Lezovic, Rados Petrovic, Srecko Vitkovic, and Dusan Abrenovic were arrested, and ongoing negotiations with KFOR are underway to secure their release."
