Djuric with Kombos: Gratitude for the consistent position of Cyprus regarding Kosovo

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Marko Djuric, today, in his first telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, Konstantinos Kombos, thanked his colleague for the consistent position of Cyprus on the issue of Kosovo and informed him about the progress of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as well as about the problems faced by the Serbian people in Kosovo.

Djuric pointed out that Serbia provides full and unreserved support to the efforts of Cyprus to resolve its most important national issue, with the aim of preserving territorial integrity and sovereignty.

The minister noted that the political relations between Serbia and Cyprus are based on solid and reliable friendship and mutual understanding and support on issues of essential state and national importance.

He confirmed that the fraternal relations of the two countries, as well as their further development, represent a permanent determination of Serbia's foreign policy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

Djuric thanked his Cypriot colleague for the support that country provides to Serbia on the way to full membership in the EU, stressing that Serbia will continue to make credible efforts in terms of internal reforms and alignment with common European values and policies.

The ministers expressed their mutual willingness to meet as soon as possible, in order to continue the tradition of regular contacts at the highest and highest level between the two friendly countries.
