At the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, there was a handover of duties between outgoing Minister Ivica Dacic and the new head of Serbian diplomacy, Marko Djuric, who emphasized that Serbia would continue its policy of continuity regarding foreign affairs.

"In the coming period, Serbia will lead a libertarian, nationally responsible foreign policy of outreach and cooperation. We are in the business of making friends, strengthening ties, and enhancing Serbia's image in the international community," Djuric stated.

As he said, Minister Dacic bravely and decisively fought for Serbia's interests in recent years, as part of a team led by President Aleksandar Vucic.

"We will work together harmoniously and unitedly. I look forward to continuing our friendly and professional cooperation. Through the ministries we lead, along with Prime Minister Milos Vucevic and President Vucic, we will strive to act harmoniously, dedicatedly, diligently, and in the interest of all citizens," Djuric said.

Minister Dacic, who will head the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the new Serbian government, wished the new head of Serbian diplomacy success and all the best in his work, so that as a country and people, we can successfully overcome the challenges we face.

"For many years, the new Minister Marko Djuric and I, led by President Vucic, have been part of a team that has continuously dealt with the most difficult and important state and national issues since 2012. I am pleased that this is, in a way, an expression of state and political continuity regarding the views and conception of our foreign policy," Dacic said.

He emphasized that the joint goal of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs would be to defend state and national interests, and he said that in that sense, the new head of Serbian diplomacy would have his full support.
