Djuric meets Mitchell: Principled support from the Bahamas for Serbia’s territorial integrity
Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met today, on the sidelines of the 55th General Assembly of the Organization of American States in Antigua and Barbuda, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Public Services of the Bahamas, Frederick Mitchell. Djuric expressed his gratitude for the Bahamas’ principled support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, describing this stance as a reflection of mutual respect and consistent commitment to international law.
Djuric and Mitchell discussed ways to strengthen political dialogue and enhance bilateral cooperation.
The minister underscored Serbia’s commitment to developing relations with the countries of the Latin American and Caribbean region, particularly through cooperation within regional organizations such as the Organization of American States, the Caribbean Community, and the Association of Caribbean States. These platforms, he noted, represent an important mechanism for advancing political and economic ties between Serbia and the Bahamas.
With regard to economic cooperation, Minister Djuric emphasized Serbia’s readiness to explore concrete modalities for deepening trade and investment relations, as well as establishing direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries.
The head of Serbian diplomacy extended an official invitation to the Bahamas to participate in the international Expo 2027 exhibition in Belgrade, which offers an opportunity to showcase the cultural, tourism, and economic potential of participating countries.
