Djuric with representatives of the American Jewish Committee: Strong historical ties between the Serbian and Jewish peoples
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Marko Djuric met in New York with representatives of the American Jewish Committee, where he underlined the strong historical ties between the Serbian and Jewish peoples.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Minister Djuric expressed satisfaction with the ongoing contacts and cooperation with representatives of one of the most influential Jewish organizations in the United States, noting that each meeting provides an opportunity to explore new avenues for cooperation.
He emphasized the deep historical ties between the two peoples, bound also by the shared memory of suffering, and reiterated that Serbia remains firmly committed to the fight against antisemitism.
The interlocutors exchanged views on global challenges in the international arena and their consequences, while also touching upon regional issues. Minister Djuric extended an invitation to members of the Committee to visit Serbia.
On this occasion, a joint appeal was once again made for the release of Serbian-Israeli citizen Alon Ohel, held hostage in Gaza, as well as for all abducted individuals to be freed and reunited with their families.
