Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric met in New York, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Safadi.

Djuric pointed to the good and stable political relations between Serbia and Jordan, emphasizing that there is a clear mutual will to further strengthen them.

He particularly highlighted the importance of developing cooperation in areas of common interest, above all in transport and infrastructure.

The Serbian foreign minister conveyed Serbia’s readiness to intensify political dialogue in the coming period.

Djuric welcomed Jordan’s confirmation of participation in the specialized exhibition EXPO 2027, which will be held in Belgrade, calling it an important step in strengthening the economic and cultural exchange between the two countries.

He added that the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Amman is also expected, which, as he noted, will contribute to more intensive institutional cooperation and Serbia’s greater presence in the Middle East region.

During the meeting, the ministers signed an Agreement on the Abolition of Visas for Holders of Official and Diplomatic Passports between the governments of Serbia and Jordan.
