Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric thanked Chinese Ambassador to Belgrade Li Ming during their meeting today for China's principled support for Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for the continued operation of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), while reaffirming Serbia's support for the One China policy and China's territorial integrity.

According to a statement issued by the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Djuric briefed Ambassador Li on the situation and challenges in Kosovo, expressing Serbia's desire to ensure, through the continuation of the dialogue, a normal life for the Serb community, full respect for human rights, and the preservation of religious and cultural heritage.

"He expressed his gratitude for China's principled position in supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the continued operation of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). He also reaffirmed Serbia's support for the One China policy and China's territorial integrity, highlighting the high degree of alignment between the two countries on the most important geopolitical issues. This alignment is reflected in the very good cooperation between Serbia and China in multilateral forums, as reaffirmed during his recent meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in New York," the statement said.

Djuric and Li Ming discussed opportunities for further strengthening and advancing bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and geopolitical challenges and cooperation within multilateral frameworks.

Particular attention was devoted to the implementation of projects stemming from the agreements and understandings reached during Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's recent official visit to China.

The two sides agreed that the exceptionally high level of mutual trust between Serbia and China provides a solid foundation for expanding cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, new investments, defence, science and innovation, artificial intelligence, and other areas of mutual interest.

Minister Djuric stressed that President Vucic's strategic visit to China had ushered in a new era in bilateral relations, including the promotion of the building of a Serbia–China Community with a Shared Future.

Djuric also briefed the ambassador on the progress of preparations for Expo 2027, emphasizing that Serbia has already recorded a record number of confirmed participating countries for an event of this kind. He noted that the Specialized International Exhibition will serve as an outstanding platform for showcasing the economic, tourism, technological, and other achievements of the participating countries.
