Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met today in Dayton with a bipartisan delegation of U.S. Congress members, informing them about the situation in Kosovo and stating that the unilateral actions of Albin Kurti's regime represent the greatest threat to regional stability. He emphasized that the United States can provide an irreplaceable contribution to stabilizing the situation on the ground and halting Pristina’s campaign of violence and pressure against the Serbian people.

According to a statement by the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Djuric discussed Serbia–U.S. relations with the congress members and the potential for further development of bilateral cooperation across various fields.

Djuric expressed satisfaction with the quality of cooperation between Serbian state institutions and the U.S. Congress in recent years, noting that these relations are of fundamental importance for building a new reputation for Serbia and increasing its political visibility in the United States.

He emphasized that Serbian-American political relations have entered a new era in recent years, visible both politically and economically, and reiterated that launching a strategic dialogue would represent a powerful new framework for cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The Serbian foreign minister highlighted with particular satisfaction that economic cooperation between Serbia and the U.S. is becoming increasingly dynamic year after year, and noted the importance for Serbia that this cooperation takes place in vital sectors such as energy and the ICT industry.
In addition to economic cooperation, Djuric pointed out that military and security cooperation is one of the most promising areas of bilateral relations, adding that the successful cooperation through the State Partnership Program with the Ohio National Guard strongly supports the overall strengthening of Serbia–U.S. relations.

He provided the delegates with a detailed update on the situation in Kosovo, reiterating that the unilateral actions of Albin Kurti's regime are the greatest threat to regional stability and that the United States can play a crucial role in stabilizing the situation and stopping the campaign of violence and pressure against the Serbian population.

Djuric also reflected on Serbia’s regional policy, stressing that the country is pursuing a positive political and diplomatic agenda with its neighbors, aiming to focus regional relations primarily on economic development and other forms of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The U.S. delegation included Congress members Mike Turner from Ohio, Linda Sánchez from California, and Joe Wilson from South Carolina.
