Djuric with Yamashita: Due to the escalation of pressures from Pristina, a concerning number of Serbs left Kosovo

During a conversation with the Head of the UN Office in Belgrade, Mari Yamashita, Foreign Minister Marko Djuric emphasized that the goal of the unilateral actions of Kurti's policy was the complete displacement of Serbs from Kosovo and that due to the escalation of pressures from Pristina, a concerning number of Serbs had left Kosovo.

Confirming the long-standing good cooperation, Djuric stated that Serbia is proud of the results achieved through the partnership between Serbia and the UN Office in Belgrade and expressed hope that in the coming period, joint activities will expand and improve.

In the context of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, as the head of Serbian diplomacy pointed out, Serbia highly values the work of the UN Office in Belgrade, especially considering that it represents the main channel of communication with the UN Mission in Kosovo.

According to Djuric, the goal of the unilateral actions of Kurti's policy is the complete displacement of Serbs from Kosovo.

As Djuric also stressed, not only has there been no return of internally displaced persons to their ancestral homes, but in the past year, due to the escalation of pressures from Pristina, a concerning number of Serbs have left Kosovo.

For Serbia, as Djuric emphasized, it is of particular importance to consider the issue of Kosovo in the UN Security Council, in accordance with Resolution 1244, so that both the Council and the international community are regularly informed about the situation on the ground, including the political and security situation.

He also emphasized that Serbia remains committed to dialogue and will always be a constructive partner in the process of normalizing relations, and that it will continue to advocate for peace and stability in the region.
