Donic: Claims that the Washington Agreement has been implemented are part of political positioning

Petar Donic, associate of the New Third Way, stated that the claim made by Kosovo's President Vjosa Osmani that the 2020 Washington Agreement has been implemented and that it is now time to move beyond it, is a matter of political positioning.

"They probably want to say that they have fulfilled their part of the Washington Agreement, although that is not true, or at least that they have fulfilled it to a greater extent, and that now it is time to move on to something else. This is political positioning at the moment, in the sense of saying: ‘Look, we are a good student,’" Donic said to Kosovo Online.

He noted that this agreement was, in effect, short-lived, as it was reached near the end of Donald Trump's first presidential term, after which Joseph Biden was elected President of the United States.

"Many points on the American side also lost a certain potential and momentum, and objectively, there needs to be thought given to a new agreement if the idea is to actually reach one," Donic said.
