Drecun: Kurti's intention was to provoke the Serbian people

Milovan Drecun, the head of the Parliamentary Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, stated that Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti intentionally chose yesterday's day for the incidents in northern Kosovo due to the rally in Belgrade in order to provoke the Serbian people, RTS reports.

"The preparations have been underway for months. It was only a matter of when it would happen. I have been warning about it," Drecun said in an interview on Serbia's public broadcaster.

He emphasizes that these incidents are Kurti's "last line" because, he says, dangerous consequences will follow after crossing that line.

"The first consequence is a broad conflict with the Serbian people. The second is the cessation of dialogue, which is now pointless to discuss," Drecun stated.

He adds that the violence of Pristina can be prevented by the US and Quint countries, but, he emphasizes, KFOR and EULEX, who were aware of what was being prepared for yesterday, did not protect the unarmed Serbian people.

He emphasizes that Belgrade is taking actions and diplomatic activities that should not be taken lightly, such as raising combat readiness, as it prevents Kurti from commencing the persecution of people.

"The deployment of our forces along the administrative line is the strongest warning. These are unilateral and violent moves by Pristina," Drecun said.
