Vucic: We haven't had a more difficult and bigger crisis in Kosovo; unity is necessary

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said tonight that there had never been a more difficult or bigger crisis in Kosovo, after today, and that this was precisely why the unity of all citizens was necessary. At the same time, he announced a meeting of the National Security Council, where the situation in Kosovo would be discussed.

"Today, as if they were deliberately waiting for that day, for a significant number of men from the north to come to Belgrade, from Kosovo and Metohija, in order to attack the municipal buildings in Zubin Potok, Zvecan, and Leposavic," Vucic pointed out at the "Srbija Nade" rally.

On all this, he points out, they were silent from the Quint, which now condemns it, but only now, when the Albanians have finished their work.

"We haven't had a more difficult and bigger crisis in Kosovo. After this meeting, we will have a meeting of the National Security Council on Kosovo. And, I'm afraid; a lot of bad things, because I know who we're dealing with," Vucic said.

Precisely because of that, and everything else that had happened, unity, togetherness, and unification were needed more than ever, Vucic said.

He warned that a difficult period was coming, regarding Kosovo, probably the most difficult.

"We are pressed against the wall of lies. We will keep the peace; we will seek peace. I will fight for every second of peace to last longer, but I say that the first attack on the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija - Serbia will not sit idly by. Do you want to expel the Serbs? You will not expel them," Vucic said.

He thanked everyone who came to the rally in bad weather, just because they loved Serbia.

"When we are united and together, then no one can do anything to us. The most important thing is that only a strong and united Serbia can cope with countless problems," President Vucic said.

At the beginning of the address, he asked all those present to lower their flags and bow their heads and observe a minute of silence to pay respect to the children killed in the "Vladislav Ribnikar" school, their guardian, and the young people killed in Dubona and Malo Orasje near Mladenovac.

"Today we have to talk in silence, to hear questions and answers, we owe it to the children we lost, the children whom we need to help grow up," Vucic said.

As he noted, the most important questions after May 3 were - what we had taught children, what we were teaching them, and what we would teach them - division or unity.

"Will they say that some are miserable and others are exalted, will they know how to say thank you, please, or will they think that everyone else is an enemy, that they should not talk to them..." Vucic stated.

He pointed out that more than 50,000 weapons had been collected in the action of handing over illegal weapons.

"We introduced police officers into schools almost everywhere, many psychologists and pedagogues. We still have to do a lot to make our children, teachers, and parents feel safer," the President said.

He stated that some had tried to take advantage of the tragedy, but that he had not been referring to the "ordinary" people because the people who had walked in the protests had been mostly decent.

"The ones I cannot appreciate are the politicians who will go down in the annals of our people because they took advantage of the greatest tragedy. They deserve only contempt, and the people deserve respect," Vucic pointed out.

However, as the President of the Republic, he also invited those politicians, whom he said he thought the worst of, to dialogue, because a conversation was necessary.

"My door is open from tomorrow for everyone. It is not hatred that should be used to solve problems. We love the people who were at those protests, and we will always respect them. They told us about the reality shows, and we canceled them, but those won't be on their television," Vucic said.

He added that all the time politicians had only one desire - how to overthrow him and the government.

"I invite them to talk, but there will be no transitional governments. As long as I am alive, the government will be elected in elections. Praise the measures we have adopted, thank us for canceling reality shows, and tell us what else we can talk about," Vucic said.

The President also emphasized that he was proud of the fact that Serbia led an independent policy and made its own decisions on whom, whether, and when to impose sanctions.

"We also saw attacks on the SOC. That must not happen. You don't have to be a believer, but one of the pillars of Serbia must not be demolished because someone from outside ordered it," Vucic said.

He noted that there was still a lot that needed to be done in Serbia, which had to be safe for all its inhabitants, regardless of religion or nationality.

Vucic also said that for 11 years he had faithfully and loyally served his country and people.

"Perhaps more loyal and faithful than some can imagine. And, for 11 years I have been at the head of the Serbian Progressive Party - the best, biggest party of honest people who have changed Serbia. We won all the elections because they had no politics," Vucic said.

He said that this was the last evening that he would address as president of the Serbian Progressive Party.

"From tomorrow it will be someone else. I will be a member and president of all citizens," Vucic said.

He also announced that from Vidovdan he was starting to form the People's Movement, because of the crisis we were in.

"And, I will ask the Serbian Progressive Party to be the pivot of all this, we are starting to form the Movement for the People and the State in order to have a base, support, and foundation to preserve our country in the next two or three crisis years, which are decisive for the future of Serbia. I know that without the Serbian Progressive Party, it can't be done," Vucic said.

He also said that the Movement would be wider than all the parties, where all responsible people would gather, who would know how important the road to the EU was, but without the quandary of alliances in the East.

He added that local leaders who had not worked well would be replaced.

“I am grateful to everyone in the party with whom I cooperated because they did not allow us to hate. We came together out of love. The period of the greatest struggle is ahead of us and I would ask them not to stop fighting. Thank you for all the love, support, and everything, keep winning, I will help. Keep going for the sake of Serbia. I ask you to believe in Serbia and fight for Serbia," Vucic said.

He added that he was proud that there was no incident.

Szijjarto in Serbian: We will continue to build a strong Hungarian-Serbian friendship

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, spoke in Serbian at the "Srbija Nade" gathering, saying that both Hungary and Serbia were countries that stood up for themselves and their national interests, capable of doing so, thanks to the strong leaders who led them.

"It is an honor to stand before you again, after four years in this wonderful city, in a great place. I represent a nation that considers you Serbs to be a brotherly nation," Szijjarto said.

He added that it had not been like that always and that history had put us in front of many trials so that the two countries often had perceived each other as enemies.

"Today, all that has changed and we have become brotherly nations. Who can we thank for that? To your President, Aleksandar Vucic. You have a great President," Szijjarto said.

He pointed out that Vucic had achieved that instead of historical enmity, the two countries now had a historical friendship.

"Under the leadership of Vucic, Serbia treats the Hungarian community in Vojvodina in a way that can serve as an example for the whole world. We Hungarians are grateful for that," Szijjarto said.

Dacic: We will not give Kosovo; we will not give Serbia

We would not give Kosovo; we would not give Serbia, the leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia, Ivica Dacic said, stressing that Pristina was trying to occupy Serbian municipalities in Kosovo by force.

"Today, you heard that Kurti's government in Pristina is trying to occupy Serbian municipalities in Kosovo by force, thereby completely legalizing and legitimizing the occupation of Kosovo and Metohija, our country, whose every step is covered with Serbian blood, sung with Serbian sorrow, flooded with Serbian tears," Dacic said.

Every meter of land in Kosovo, he emphasized, had its hero underground whose grave could not be reached.

"They should know that all those who built their house on other people's graves are cursed. We will not give Kosovo and Metohija, we will not give Serbia, our children, we will not allow violence against women to all who towered over our country, enemies abroad, we will not give our youth to be poisoned... We will not give Serbia and the Serbs," Dacic said.

Dodik: There is no freedom without a state; support for the Serbs in Kosovo, Republika Srpska, Montenegro, and around the world

There was no freedom without a state, and that was why it was important that today we all be with our people in Kosovo, Republika Srpska, Montenegro, and around the world, the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik said from the meeting "Srbija Nade" in Belgrade.

"It is important today that we say that we want a stable, normal Serbia that grieves, that knows how to gather strength, knows how to rejoice. We trust and support that Serbia led by Aleksandar Vucic," Dodik said.

He reminded that Serbia and the Serbs were grieving today because of the suffering of children who had tragically lost their lives.

"Some thought that Serbia was weak. It is sad, but it is not weak, this gathering says that. It's in vain for the British and others to collect satraps, always blindly using events like this," Dodik added.

He said that he had come on behalf of Republika Srpska to support Serbia.

"Serbia led by Vucic, which elected him as President. That Serbia should and must be respected. Srpska looks up to Serbia and many are here now to show that we are one nation," Dodik said.

As he said, today, more than ever, the Serbs were with their brothers and sisters in Kosovo, who were fighting for freedom.

"It is important to say that we want a stable Serbia that grieves and rejoices. Long live Serbia, Republika Srpska, Russia," Dodik said.

Milan Knezevic: Everything that hurts Belgrade hurts us too

One of the leaders of the coalition "For the Future of Montenegro" said that he wanted to convey greetings from brotherly Montenegro to everyone.

"Although I am no longer sure that it is called that, that they named her Ambasadistan. And as in every Ambassadoristan, the ambassadors told us that there was no need to carry our heads and use them because they would do it for us. And it's enough that when they go to sleep, we all turn off the lights, and when they get up, we make the coffee," Knezevic said.

He stated that in Montenegro, there were honorable Serbs and Montenegrins who, as he said, would never recognize the fake state of Kosovo.

"If God allows us to form a government, as our coalition, and I become prime minister, the first decision is to withdraw the shameful recognition of the so-called state of Kosovo. That's why, Serbian brothers and Serbian sisters, I love this unruly Serbia, in the rain, in the sun, in the wind, because it is its own and independent, and it fights for its people in Kosovo, which I especially welcome tonight," Knezevic said.

He added that he loved Serbia because it would never go to war against brotherly Russia.

"I love Serbia led by Aleksandar Vucic, who helped the Serbs in Montenegro the most, restored institutions, helped the SOC, and helped the seminary in Cetinje. Now that he was in Montenegro, he promised that we would open two factories together in the north of Montenegro. And when they ask me which is closer to me - Brussels or Belgrade, I ask them 'Are you normal'. Nothing is closer to us than Belgrade, Novi Sad, imperial Prizren, and Kosovska Mitrovica. We started this historic journey together, and everything that hurts Belgrade hurts us too," Knezevic said.

Mina Mijailovic, the mother of a child with a rare disease, addressed the crowd first; she said that she had had no expectations from the state, and could only dream of treatment abroad 10 years ago.

"I knocked on many doors until I turned to the institutions that enabled me to achieve the right for my child with the help of the state. We have to believe in ourselves, our Serbia. I am proud that we are sending a message of unity from this place. We are not alone, Serbia is with us," she said.

Actor Lazar Ristovski said that the meeting had been necessary so that everyone could see that there was a Serbia outside of Belgrade, as an example of goodwill, an extended hand.

"But if this confrontation continues, with two ways out, two catharses are possible, a collective catharsis in which we would uniquely shed tears of joy for a better future and another in which blood falls on the streets. That's why let's be smart, united. The fact that people think differently, does not mean conflict but dialogue. The desire for dialogue is not a weakness, but a strength, so now that we are stronger, let us extend the hand of reconciliation," Ristovski said.

A large number of citizens from all parts of Serbia came to Belgrade to express their support for the country and President Vucic. Among them are the Serbs from Kosovo, who arrived in Belgrade in an organized manner during the day, as well as a group of young men who arrived in the capital on foot.

The meeting began with the performance of the hymn "God of Justice".
