Drecun: Kurti's ultimate goal is to send KSF to the north of Kosovo

The Chairman of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija in the Serbian Parliament, Milovan Drecun, says that Serbs are not behind the alleged attacks with explosive devices in the north of Kosovo and that the main goal behind causing the incidents is to permanently station a large number of special forces in the north of Kosovo, as well as members of the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF).

"The detonations from two nights ago (on Wednesday) in Bosnjacka Mahala (Bosnian Mahala) were in the part where only Albanians live, but everything is attributed to the Serbs in order to nullify the effect of the peaceful, democratic protest of the Serbs that resulted in the withdrawal from Kosovo institutions. Also, it is not about explosive devices because there is no evidence of such. Detonations that were heard could have been caused by cannon strikes," Drecun says.

He adds that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti wants to promote a wrong media image about the Serbs' protest not being peaceful.

"He aspires to portray the Serbs as thugs and that it is about some kind of Serbian gangs and former members of the Kosovo Police Service who left it, to create a story that there are parallel formations of Serbs in the north," Drecun notes.

As he reminded, such reports were immediately followed by reactions from international representatives.

"They said 'we condemn violence', but actually the responsibility is shifted onto the Serbs. It is a planned campaign. Kurti will not give up on it, and he will have the covert support of the West. He will constantly maintain and increase tensions in order for Belgrade to accept the European proposal on the solution of the Kosovo problems," Drecun says.

He expressed his concerns about the possibility of a "false flag" operation, in which the Albanians themselves would act with the help of some western services, and who would carry out an attack on the special police units in the north or on the international forces present there, and that Serbian side would be accused of it. 

"That would be an excuse for Kurti to increase and permanently station a large number of special forces in the north, as well as to send members of the Kosovo Security Forces there. It seems to me that this is his main goal in causing incidents - to show that there is a great danger from the alleged Serbian paramilitary formations and to get approval to deal with them in order to 'establish the rule of law'. He will also add KSF, and justify it by saying that there are not enough resources in the north," Drecun says.
