German Embassy: Closing institutions without prior agreement may negatively affect the lives of Kosovo Serbs

The German Embassy in Kosovo stated that closing institutions in the fields of healthcare, education, and social services without a prior agreement on alternatives could negatively impact the daily lives of Kosovo Serbs and other communities.
In response to Kosovo Online regarding the closure of social work centers in northern Kosovo, the German Embassy noted that they "agree that parallel structures in the north need to be dismantled, but that institutions in the fields of healthcare, education, and the provision of essential social services should not be shut down in this manner."
They also added that they fully support the statement made by the EU spokesperson on this matter.
"As previously stated, the German Embassy agrees that parallel structures should be dismantled, but institutions in the fields of healthcare, education, and the provision of essential social services should not be shut down in this way. Closing such existing structures without a prior agreement on alternatives may negatively affect the daily lives of Kosovo Serbs and other communities," they stated.
On Friday, the Kosovo Police closed social work centers in North Mitrovica, Leposavic, and Zvecan.
