Gervalla responds to Grenell: Not true that the international community is against Kurti
Kosovo's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gervalla, stated that it is not true that the international community is against Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Teve 1 reports.
In response to a statement made by US Special Envoy for Special Diplomatic Missions Richard Grenell, Gervalla said that it is naive to believe that the United States would abandon Kosovo’s security or jeopardize its prosperity.
"It is not true that the international community is against Albin Kurti because that would mean that all the partners I communicate with are either hiding the truth from me or saying something different. On the contrary, this government has been fighting corruption from the very beginning, as there is a broad consensus for this fight, and the law is being respected. Therefore, most of our partners are very pleased with these developments. The United States is Kosovo’s most important partner. The US has supported us not only during the war but also in the post-war period, so it is very naive to believe that America would abandon our country's security or that anyone in the US would jeopardize Kosovo’s prosperity," she said.
Grenell previously stated that the international community is united against Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.
According to him, Kurti’s rhetoric, claiming close ties with the US and asserting that his government is better than any previous government in Kosovo, is completely false.
