The Government of Kosovo supports the opening of the bridge on the Ibar River
The Government of Kosovo supported the decision of the North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly to open the bridge over the Ibar, reports RTK.
The Government of Kosovo emphasized that the first paragraph of Article 35 of the Constitution guarantees the free movement of citizens in Kosovo in any place of residence.
"Any obstacle to freedom of movement violates this fundamental right. Therefore, the decision to remove such obstacles is just and correct," the Kosovo government's response to RTK states.
At yesterday's session, the North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly made, at the request of the Councilor for Self-determination Aida Ferati-Doli, a decision to send a request to the authorities to enable the freedom of movement for cars on the main bridge over the Ibar and to free up the space around that bridge.
Special EU envoy Miroslav Lajcak, speaking about this decision, pointed out that it was not the time to open the bridge on the Ibar River.
