Lajcak: It is not the right time to open the main bridge on the Ibar River

It is not the right time to open the main bridge over the Ibar River to traffic, said the Special EU envoy for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajcak.

Lajcak stated this within the "Delphi Forum" in Greece, saying that the European Union continues to deal with crisis management.

According to Lajcak, red lines must be respected by both sides.

"While we are talking, in Mitrovica there is a request to open the bridge and the atmosphere is obviously not good for it. I want to send a message with this panel that this is the right platform, this plan is a double win, it has many benefits for both sides and the red lines must be respected," said Lajcak, referring to the Brussels and Ohrid Agreements.

He said that the solution of the Kosovo-Serb issue was among the most strategic challenges, because Albanians and Serbs lived in the entire region.
