KFOR: The issue of opening the Ibar Bridge must be resolved through political dialogue

The KFOR mission stated that the reopening of the Ibar Bridge between North and South Mitrovica is an issue that must be resolved through political dialogue, reports Nacionale.

As stated in that mission, KFOR continues to monitor local development and remains focused on the day-to-day implementation of its mandate.

They add that KFOR is providing security support so that EU-led diplomatic efforts can move forward.

"The NATO-led KFOR mission continues to monitor local developments and remains fully focused on the day-to-day implementation of its mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, to ensure a safe environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo. KFOR also continues to provide the necessary security support so that EU-led diplomatic efforts can progress," the statement said.
