The British Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, reacted following the refusal to certify the Serb List for participation in the upcoming early elections, stating that such actions risk destroying Kosovo’s reputation as a multiethnic democracy, Indeks Online reports.
“I am seriously concerned by the recent attempt by political actors to prevent the Serb List from participating in electoral processes. Such actions threaten to undermine Kosovo’s hard-won reputation as a multiethnic democracy and damage its relations with close partners,” Hargreaves said.
“I hope that the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel will reassess the Serb List’s certification request in accordance with Kosovo’s laws and regulations,” the British Ambassador to Kosovo added, as reported by Indeks Online.
At today’s CEC meeting, only two members voted in favor of certification, two voted against, while the remaining members abstained.
