Hill: I believe that the American-Serbian partnership is strong and will be even stronger
The US Ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, pointed out that Serbia, like all other countries, had its own challenges, adding that the New Year called for optimism and focusing on the positive aspects of the relationship between the two countries, Danas reports.
"As we enter 2023, I believe that the American-Serbian partnership is strong and will only get stronger," Hill said.
In a written statement, he answered the question of Danas whether he would respond to the president of the Freedom and Justice Party, Dragan Djilas, who had recently reacted on Twitter to his statement that American companies had been inspired to invest in Serbia.
Namely, reacting to Hill's announcement on Twitter that American companies would invest more in Serbia this year because they saw "inspiration" in it, Djilas stated that he "certainly supports" the arrival of American investors, but also asked "what exactly inspires them" to invest in Serbia.
In his New Year's video greeting, Hill said that in 2023 he wanted to see work on bringing the economies of Serbia and the US closer together and especially works on bringing their people closer together.
"I think the Serbian and American people have a lot in common and I hope to do everything I can to bring us closer together and make the next year a fulfilling one," Hill said.
