Hovenier at the liturgy in Gracanica: US is concerned and condemns the wounding of two young men in Strpce

The US Ambassador to Pristina, Jeffrey Hovenier, said that the US was concerned and condemned the wounding of two Serbian boys in Gotovusa near Strpce and added that it was good that the authorities reacted quickly and arrested the suspect of the attack.

Hovenier attended the Christmas liturgy in the Gracanica Monastery this morning and on that occasion wished a Merry Christmas to all Serbs, and pointed out that it was an honor for him that Bishop Teodosije invited him to attend the service.

"It was a pleasure to be invited by Bishop Teodosije today to attend this Christmas morning Mass and experience this centuries-old tradition. I also want to take this opportunity to briefly talk about what happened yesterday in Strpce, and reiterate on behalf of the United States as well, how concerned we are about the situation where two young men were shot. We condemn that act, of course. We are grateful that the authorities acted so quickly and apprehended the suspect. I don't have anything to say about it other than the Government has acknowledged that he is a member of the KSF, and they've acknowledged that they will hold them accountable," Hovenier said.
