Garic for RTS: There is no peace for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija - the main culprit is Kurti, shame lies in the West
The editor of the "Kosovo Online" portal, Milos Garic, said that even on Christmas there was no peace for the Serbs in Kosovo, and assessed that the main culprit for what happened yesterday in Gotovusa near Strpce was Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, but that the main shame for everything that was happening and because of what had happened to two young Serbs lies in the West, among those who support Kurti, RTS reports.
Even Christmas Eve did not pass peacefully in Kosovo. Yesterday, two Serbian boys, 11-year-old Stefan Stijanovic and 21-year-old Milos Stojanovic, were wounded by firearms in Gotovusa near Strpce. A local Albanian shot at them without any reason, from a moving vehicle.
Garic, in a guest appearance on the morning program of RTS, said that it was obvious that there was no peace for Serbs in Kosovo even on Christmas Eve and Christmas.
"We are somehow used to extreme Albanians provoking on big dates, but we have never had a situation like this, where on Christmas they shoot with the intention of killing one of the Serbs in Kosovo. It happened yesterday on Christmas Eve in the vicinity of Strpce. One senseless act. Two boys who, with other relatives and friends from the village, went to cut Christmas trees and take them home, to rejoice at a holiday that is important to them, in an environment where there is little opportunity for Serbs to rejoice. Those boys wanted to spend that day in socializing and to give themselves a little pleasure - and that's what happened that they came across a man who shot at them from the car, even though they were doing it without disturbing anyone," said Garic.
According to Garic, those bullets were fired by a man who was an extreme Albanian, a member of the KSF, but he was not the main culprit.
"His name is not important. The main culprit for what happened yesterday is called Albin Kurti. He is a man who has been pouring unlimited hatred into hot Albanian heads for months, years, days, and it is no wonder that we have reached what we have reached", Garic pointed out.
Garic says that in previous months, Albin Kurti drew targets on the foreheads of all Serbs in Kosovo - from Lesak through Metohija villages, Gracanica, Laplje selo, Sirnicka zupa without distinction - all Serbs are legitimate targets for Kurti and for extreme Albanians, and that is big problem.
"In such an environment, those followers of Albin Kurti believe that it is not only possible and that it is something that is normal, but even desirable to shoot Serbs and even children - this is a tragic picture of today's Kosovo, which under the leadership of extreme Albanians it looks like this - a hatred that is spreading like a plague through Kosovo and Metohija, which is spreading from Pristina from those circles of extreme Albanian nationalism led by Kurti. But we have here at the same time a situation where we are aware of the fact that Kurti is not the only one to blame for everything this, that in fact the main shame for what is happening and for what happened yesterday to these two young Serbs lies in the West, among those partners of Kurti who support him," underlined Garic.
Speaking about the reactions of the West, Garic says that these are people who came out with some messages of false concern, insincere concern, and that they avoided saying that it was about Serbian children.
"Until now, many times in similar situations, they have always called for both sides to refrain. We have never received a concrete, direct answer from them, a reaction to Pristina extremism, and that is what led Kurti and all his followers to think that it is possible for them to behave in this way," Garic concluded.
