Hoxha: Political culture in Kosovo is not oriented toward compromise and finding solutions

Professor at the ADGER Institute Abit Hoxha stated that the political culture in Kosovo is not oriented toward compromise and finding solutions, and that the public is influenced by the rhetoric of political elites, reports Klan Kosova.

Hoxha believes that responsibility for such a political climate in Kosovo lies with the Self-Determination Movement.

“I think that Kosovo currently has a political culture that is not particularly focused on problem-solving and compromise,” Hoxha said.

He pointed to the inflammatory rhetoric being promoted in public discourse.

“If we look at the insults and profanity directed at political opponents in Kosovo, if that alone is taken as a basis, it is tragic. There is an audience encouraged by the political elite, and unfortunately most of all by the Self-Determination Movement. Numerically speaking as well, they bear the greatest responsibility,” Hoxha stated.
